We, the British Oil

In creating this piece, I blended expressionism and realism. The solemn expressions of the men and muted colours evoke a sense of introspection and companionship. I have titled the painting "We the British", to show two (older, white) men in a pub- a somewhat stereotypical depiction of Britishness. They are sitting with their hands together, they may be a couple, or perhaps not, but the painting captures the poignant moment shared between the two individuals.
