Description
Grid. Building up a painting with that particular inner conversations is an adventurous process. One idea after another, questions popping up from each corner and stroke, and when the answers are hard to find, a scary tool comes to wipe everything off to start (and continue) the thought. When I created the base layer for this painting, I had a part where I applied too much paint which started to drip down - and that is the main spine of this abstraction.
I diluted the paint to achieve this lighter consistency, and started to use gravity. Dripping down diagonally with slightly transparent whites, turning the canvas several times to elevate the dynamics, this work has several layers of colours without a single brush stroke. I adjusted the depth here and there with using more / less water, and reached an agreement with dark purple on the left and crimson on the right. I wanted something direct in the middle that links each side and the saturated light cyan / teal works as highlight.
Finished with satin varnish, signed and dated on the back. Please note this is an unmounted and unframed work and will be shipped safely in a tube with certificate of authenticity.
