Description
My inspiration for this painting is my love of nostalgia and my aim of keeping the old musical films alive.
One of the most famous and remembered scenes from the old musical “Singing In The Rain” starring Gene Kelly, released in September 1952
The happy go lucky actor is so busy tapping and dancing about in the pouring rain he fails to notice the twist from the Artist Stephen Maddocks who’s placed him in the foreground of a modern day abstract cityscape background.
He doesn’t seem to mind he’s moved on 70 years or so in time, and keeps on strutting his stuff swinging on the old famous lamppost and clutching his umbrella both of which seem to have accompanied him during the transition from the old musical film Singing In The Rain!
