Description
Postage Stamp Collage
This picture is composed of approximately 2000 used postage stamps which are available in a huge range of colours and designs.. The stamp colours are not altered and post marks are still visible on close observation. Commercially produced heavily sanded Acrylic white paint has been used in creating the ‘Brand’ images of ‘Pepsi’ and ‘Coke’ on these canvases. This picture was created on quality deep edge canvas. It is not framed and should not be displayed in direct sunlight although all canvases are varnished twice and have a coat of U.V. protection.
Coca –Cola or ‘Coke’ is like ‘Pepsi’ a carbonated soft drink but manufactured independently by ‘The Coco-Cola Company’. It was invented and introduced in 1886 by John Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia as a temperance drink and intended as a patent medicine. Its image has changed many times with the development of its extended ‘brands’, with over ten variants, the most common being Diet Coke. It was registered in 2020 based on ‘the best global brand’ as the worlds ‘sixth most valuable brand’ and like its rival Pepsi remains an iconic Pop Art image.
