Description
Peter's Horse from Healaugh is an original acrylic painting painted on a paper illustration board; it is framed.
The size of the artwork is 30 x 20 x 0.3 cm. It is mounted in the following dimensions: 42 x 33 x 0.5 cm, and it is framed in the following sizes: 46 x 37 x 2 cm. It is a simple matte with a satin-finish black wooden frame. Because the portrait of a horse is well-varnished, there is no glass in front of the painting.
My husband Peter visited "his" horse many times, bringing him apples. The horse enjoyed eating apples and expected Peter to deliver this delicacy every morning and evening. At this moment of expectation, Peter photographed "Cider," as he was calling him.
With his permission, I have used Peter's photo to paint this graceful animal.
"Cider" lives in Healaugh (pronounced: Helau), a small village in the dales of North Yorkshire where we had spent our holiday. Healaugh is close to Reeth, and Reeth is close to Richmond in North Yorkshire.
Materials used: paper illustration board, professional grade acrylic paints, varnish, two mounts of mounting mat, black frame.
