The Time capsule Drawing

The 5th piece in my ‘Interconnected Subconscious’ collection. This piece is a frozen montage of certain snapshots of events that have formed me as a person. The doll and the desert symbolises my childhood growing up in South Africa. We would visit the Cape for holidays during which we would drive through the Karoo with its beautiful desert and skeleton trees. The cottage’s blank windows reflects the ever changing sense of belonging as we grow up and mature. Finally, the figure in the piece is a Goddess, specifically the ‘Maiden’ aspect of the 3 figures of the mother Goddess Hekate. Even though I’ve entered the ‘mother’ phase, I still feel ‘maiden’ spiritually. I suppose we never truly feel our age!
