Description
In this piece, I explored the raw clash of despair and oblivion within a surreal, minimalist landscape through expressionistic brushstrokes and a restrained color palette. The painting shows a Muslim woman in a desert about to start prayer on the sand. In the background juxtaposed are the faces (black) soldiers. The characters, fragmented yet impactful, reflect a poignant narrative of human experience and resilience in the face of adversity. Yet, despite the prayers, the violence in countries such as Sudan or Somalia continues to prevail. This work is meant to provoke reflection and a deep, emotional engagement from the viewer.
