WINTER THAW Mixed Media

This is a mixed media painting (acrylic and oil) on a block canvas depicting a late winter scene when snow is melting and forming a pond. It was inspired by looking at various landscapes including those of Tibor Nagy. It has lots of texture and is applied both with brush and palette knife. The sides are painted and it is ready to hang or be framed. It is in a square format, 16 inches square. It is an impressive painting with both sharp and soft edges evoking spatial distance. It was a joy to produce and I hope that it provides joy to anyone who views it. It would enhance any wall or room in which it was hung and would draw attention.
