Description
Mona Lisa, Leonardo’s masterpiece, always attracts ... not only viewers, but artists too: Duchamp, ... and Vladimir Kolosov. Vladimir remember how during his visit of Louvre for the first time in 1990’s his attention was attracted by crowd gathering around Mona Lisa and not painting itself. He says that this snapshot was sitting deeply in his mind until the moment when I decided to create his own version of Mona Lisa, his improvisation on the theme. Mona Lisa with moustaches, donkey’s ears, etc. - it is the past and not interesting anymore. There should be something new. The key point is: what might happen with Mona Lisa? ... She can walk away and never be back, or she can be stolen... despite the painting is covered by the bullet proof glass. That’s interesting! And this idea lies behind this artwork.
