Description
An Owl Portrait is a one-of-a-kind, original painting, an acrylic artwork. It is a small but very detailed work in a realistic style inspired by the Impressionists.
An owl's eyes can speak volumes, I think.
I am an owl fan. Living in Kentucky's woods, I was lucky to meet some of these magnificent birds. I observed them, always one at a time, as they sometimes spent a day on a tree branch. Then, when I was quiet and calm, they would stay the whole day at the same spot. An impressive, beautiful sight of a resting owl!
Once I even got scared when an enormous owl flew straight towards me in the dim twilight of the forest. The bird was probably frightened too because it vanished in an instant! It surprised me how silent owls fly! I did not hear or see the owl coming, but it was a memorable and fantastic encounter.
