Thames Barge Oil

A Thames barge is sitting in the mud at low tide, in the mud flats off the east coast of England. Boats are quite difficult to draw correctly, but I am happy with this one. Since I wanted to show the whole mast and the land is so flat, this meant painting a lot of sky so I have given interest to this large expanse by putting in clouds of different colours and shapes. These boats are quite iconic on the east coast with their flat bottoms and dark red sails.
The piece is not framed, but I have painted the edges so that it can be hung on the wall as it is. I will ship in a cardboard box.
