Two androgenous figures, one of which is injured and carried by his mate, are in the middle of what could be, a catastrophic blast. Debris and shards of flack fly around the two of them. The solemn gaze from the figure facing you, sums the situation up.
The original picture was originally a pure abstract. It was entered on an online competition, hosted by the Mall gallery in London. One of the rules was that the work could not be an abstract composition. The gallery also stipulated, that if the subject matter was contemporary to current goings on, all the better.
In order to qualify, I had to think of something fast. At the time, the UK was withdrawing from the Iraq conflict, so I decided to use something in that vain. The multicoloured shards were already part of the picture, so I added two adroid figures. I managed to get this submitted before the closing date. It was not selected, but it was good experience.
This will make an eye catching addition to a home office, bedroom or study.
