Description
This painting is sourced from a couple of photos I took of a shop window in Palermo . These pots are known as the Two Moors and are found all over Sicily .You may have observed them in the second series of White Lotus .
They are based on a gruesome love story of which there are several versions and resulted in one or both of the two lovers losing their heads. One of the versions gave Keats his inspiration for the poem the Pot of Basil .
The painting is mixed media consisting principally of acrylic with oil pastel on acrylic paper 140lb .
