Description
Original, impressionist, landscape, oil painting on board 9.5x12 inches (24x30,5 cm).
Stream cutting through the rugged landscape in Bohemian Forest, known as “Sumava”. This place was scarcely populated area on the Czech-German border dividing both countries with so-called "Iron Curtain". These remote border areas were almost like a "No Go Zone" for most people. Once you tried to access these remote places, you would certainly caught the attention of border patrol and might have been questioned under suspicion of trying to illegally cross the border to West Germany. After the fall of "Iron Curtain", border areas of “Sumava” became accessible for general population, mainly hikers and because of their well-preserved, wild nature, they were established as national park in 1991.
The painting is signed and sold unframed. The frame is displayed only for the purpose of visualisation. All materials are archival.
