Man’s best friend
If you have ever owned a dog, you’ll know it will give you unconditional love. A cat can be good fun too, but they are more independent and can even be a bit “snooty”.
Many of our artists draw inspiration from dogs; all breeds, all sizes.
Dogs are direct descendants of grey wolves, but selective breeding has caused them to have very different characteristics even though they share 98% of their DNA with those same wolves.
They certainly look different.

Some dogs can be trained to round up sheep. Some collect birds after the shoot and some will sniff out humans.
Artists aren’t just happy to paint dogs, some will make sculptures; capturing the posture of the animal.

And printmakers produce artworks as well of course.
There is no end to which an artist will go to push boundaries.
