Raised and educated in Paris, my artistic interest was nurtured in the 50’s, amongst the art and jazz communities on the Left Bank. I aim to portray the duality between the mundane and the supra-mundane. My modern creations, mainly based on classical mythological beings, express a transcendental vision of abstracted beauty. The viewer must decipher abstract forms which, once the simple lines and hint of shadows are combined, crystallise into clearly defined images. I developed “entailles” (cuts into paper or canvas), a technique I use to create relief/perspective. However, entailles also create the illusion of a changing image due to the paper 'cuts' creating light or shade effects, according to the direction in which light falls onto a painting. So, in essence, I 'paint with light'.
COMMISSIONS: I am happy to accept commission enquiries (from private and commercial clients) and have worked on a number of interesting projects, including: - a portrait, in minimalist style, for Eammon Andrews, CBE, as a gift for his wife's birthday; - a set of three, A2 size, figurative paintings, in my minimalist style, for a hotel/spa in Norfolk; - various company logos; - a minimalist painting (for presentation to a Company Director on his retirement); - tasteful 'fine lingerie' drawing commissions for two business women, in the beauty industry; - two sets of 6 figurative paintings for two new office complexes in Peterborough; - an oil painting portrait of a Cameroonian Princess, for a hotel in Buea, Cameroon; - a large abstract painting 2.4 metres wide x 1 meter high, for a new home.

Artistic background

Raised and educated in Paris, my artistic interest was nurtured amongst the art and jazz communities on the Left Bank. I aim to portray the duality between the mundane and the supra-mundane. My modern, minimalist creations are mainly based on classical mythological beings and express a transcendental vision of abstracted beauty. The viewer must decipher abstract forms with simple lines and shadows which, when combined, crystallise into clearly defined images. I developed a technique I refer to as “entailles” (cuts into paper or canvas) and use this to create relief/perspective. However, entailles also create the illusion of a changing image due to the paper 'cuts' creating light or shade effects, according to the direction in which light falls onto a painting. COMMISSIONS: I am happy to accept commission enquiries (from private and commercial clients) and have worked on many interesting projects throughout the years. I list some examples, below:
- a portrait, in minimalist style, for Eamonn Andrews, CBE, as a gift for his wife's birthday.
- a set of three, A2 size, figurative paintings, in my minimalist style, for a hotel/spa in Norfolk;
- various company logos;

- tasteful 'fine lingerie' drawing commissions for two business women, in the beauty industry;
- two sets of 6 figurative paintings for new office complexes in Peterborough;
- an oil painting portrait of a Cameroonian Princess, for a hotel in Buea;
- an abstract painting 2.4 metres wide x 1 meter high, for a new home.
The aforementioned are just a selection of the diverse range of commissions I have been fortunate to work on.
