About Lada Stukan

My name is Lada Stukan and I was born on 17/05/1971 in Simferopoli (Crimea); since when I was a girl I always drawn and painted.
Art has always been inside me, inspiring to create my perception of the world and growing up, painting was always my greatest joy, most important interest and strength in difficult moments.

In Simferopoli, I studied arts for five years at the high school and then, for four years, at the “M.S. Samokish School of Arts”, where, in 1992, I graduated as “Decorative Arts Designer”.
In the following years I worked as teacher of arts at high schools, as illustrator of books and magazines, as designer of theatrical sets and, for seven years, as designer of interiors for hotels and shopping centers. I participated to several events and exhibitions in Ukraine and some of my paintings, are in private collections in the UE, the USA and Canada.
In 2009 I moved to Italy where I live, work and since 2020 paint as a full-time painter.

The main subject of my artworks is the nature in all its diversity, from a single flower to large landscapes. I try to stay close to reality but finally I paint them as I see them through the prism of my feelings. This is why the subject and its colors are not a mere reproduction of reality and, to better express what I feel and want to communicate, I may use different styles, from realism to abstract.
Painting for me is a full immersion experience which is every time giving me different emotions but always joy and free breath; I can make my emotions, my moods and ideas visible, almost tangible.

For most of my paintings I use the oil on canvas technique but I'm curious and I like to experiment with other existing or new techniques, mediums and materials.

To publish and sale my atrworks I use online platforms like "Saatchi Art" and "ETSY", as well as socials like "Instagram" and "YouTube".

I am a big fan of Lada. All the paintings I bought from her never disappoint. I really like this flowers painting. The red colors are very bright and provide a contrast to the green. Even though my apartment is very small, this painting looks special in my slightly dark room.

Interests

Sometimes I like to make small sculptures.
I also like to travel, expecially when I can visit Art Exibitions (classic and contemporary artists) and enjoy the different architecture of the places and the different life stiles.
I also like to walk in the Nature admiring the complexity and astonishing beauty
and I the take photos of landscapes or nature subjects,.
I also like water, the the mother of all life; I like to swim in the sea and when I can not in the swimming pool; which give me the unbelievable feeling of being lost where time does not matter, which I feel also when painting and creating my artworks.
