Artistic background

Mark paints and draws as a local artist to appreciate Hexham and the beautiful North East countryside in Northumberland and along the Roman Wall. He grew up in the Tyne Valley and likes to capture the beauty around Hexham and Swallowship Woods. He also loves animals and tries to capture the outstanding forms, shapes, colours and textures of wild animals, and occasionally his Border Collie dogs! I have raised money to go towards conservation of endangered animals and will continue to do this. He studied some art at college, but is mainly self taught, which he combines with primary teaching.
