Artistic background

A realist artist is one who paints in a style in which the realistically depicted subject is the principal focus of the artwork.

If the subject is a human figure or figures, the painting depicts identifiable persons or faces like a form of portraiture. If the subject is a fruit like a simple juicy strawberry, it depicts life-like ripened, fragrant strawberry that is bright red in colour.
