Mike Finlay

Artistic background

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Art, I completed a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Newcastle University in 2005 and a Master of Fine Art at Northumbria University.
I have exhibited nationally and internationally, with work appearing in Japan, Denmark, Norway and France. Throughout my artistic journey, focus firmly sits on resolving the relationship between mark making and sense of space. Paintings are layered over a series on weeks and months, giving texture and life to work, with historic mark visible beyond the final resolved surface.
