Judith Grassi
KidderminsterI am currently on holiday but will be back towards the end of November.
Artistic background
Welcome to my profile. I live and work in Worcestershire and have been painting for many years. My work is inspired by nature in all its forms; from a close-up of a flower petal to paintings of birds in highly decorative backgrounds. I have recently become interested in the symbolism of things and have incorporated these references into my paintings using the written word.
Colour is an important part of my work and I paint vibrant, richly coloured canvases portraying the dramatic impact of form, colour, texture and scale which become apparent when observing a flower or plant at close-range. My ‘Flower’ series of paintings features close-range images on dark backgrounds which emphasise their energy and strength.
My work has been shown in open exhibitions at:
The Mall Galleries, London
The RBSA Gallery, Birmingham
The Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead
A solo exhibition at Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

“There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun”
