Artistic background

In my early years I had a keen interest in both science and art before taking the science route. Specialising in molecular pathology, many hours were spent peering down the microscope at the intricate structures of nature, different cell shapes, chromosomes and tissue patterns each taking on its own characteristic dye colour and structure. Now as a self taught artist, I continue the interest of colour, texture and shapes on canvas, experimenting with layers of paint and glazers using different techniques including mixed media. I use good quality materials finished with a layer of UV protection non-yellowing varnish on acrylic pieces. All paintings are non-framed and ready to hang.
