SUNSET ON THE BAY Oil

Inspired by the local bay, at the end of a long hot and sunny day when the dying sun washes the whole area with an orange glow, including a tranquil sea. The rocks stand out highlighted as the sun disappears, and all seems ready to sleep for the approaching dusk. Smooth blended glazes of brushwork is combined with richly textured palette knife work to suggest movement and depth as this piece strives to depict the atmosphere of a magical land.

With a palette of warm oranges, pinks, blues and light purples with a grainy textured finish combined with smooth brush work glazes. The sides are painted to tone and the piece is ready to hang.
