Pop Art lady with flowers (He sent flowers.) Mixed Media

As a tribute to Roy Lichtenstein I used a Pop Art lady for the basis of this design. She is looking forward to happier times as she has received flowers from her soldier boyfriend who is returning home from war back home to his family. The fabric of her garments shows a snow covered landscape which recedes by the warm thoughts that ’he’ is almost home and has sent her a bunch of tulips, the harbinger of spring. Approximately 700 British recycled postage stamps were used to create this picture. It is not framed and should not be displayed in direct sunlight although all canvases are varnished twice and have a coat of U.V. protection.
