Description
The painting is inspired by a photo I took a few years back, from the gardens of Brantwood, the house on the bank of Coniston Water, Cumbria, in which John Ruskin lived. Ruskin was a patron of the Pre-Raphaelite group of artists. By just visiting Brantwood with its associated history I was connected, however tenuously, with Ruskin, the Pre-Raphaelites, one of my favourite holiday areas, and nature. What's not to like?
Painted in oils on a gessoed board. In a wooden frame with fixings attached. Ready to hang.
The image size is 12 inches X 8 inches.
The framed size is 15 inches X 11 inches
