Description
This shows a traditional folk dance from the south of Italy called ‘pizzica’. The vigorous dance is usually accompanied by music often with bagpipes and tambourine and is similar to the better known ‘tarantella’.The watercolour painting is of the dance being performed in the courtyard of a masseria, a typical farm building in Puglia.. This painting was exhibited at the Tate in an exhibition with the theme of movement.
The painting is Winsor and Newton watercolour paints on cold pressed, acid free, 300gsm watercolour paper. Ready for your own choice of mount and frame, the size of the paper is detailed below. The original artwork comes with my signature on the front and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
The work is also shown with a mount and frame but this is for illustration purposes only.
