An impressionist watercolour of a beautiful old home set in the grounds of a gorgeous garden. This ancient house is in Hemingford Grey, near St Ives, Huntingdon, with its beautiful gardens that have had tender care for nearly 1000 years.is a real treat to paint.
I wanted to impart a sense of unruliness in this painting as well as fresh lightness and buoyancy in the riot of form and colour which throws the house and tree line into the background.
A small amount of gold and silver gouache enriches the work
