Description
A stricken oak in the winter countryside. Inspired by my many hours spent travelling by bus across the Blackdown Hills and other Devon locations. By travelling on the bus, I can concentrate on looking at the countryside and the shapes and colours I see. Trees inspire me with their drama and their differing appearances through the seasons.
This painting is in watercolour, ink and with ample use of metallic silver, gold and green to give drama and reflections.
My art is not pretentious in any way, but reflects my feelings and love of the countryside I visit be it in my home county of Devon or elsewhere in these islands.
