Description
The Gamechanger is a large autumn landscape with a magical stag appearing on a woodland path. It is 40x40x1.5 inches, white edges, no frame needed. The style is semi abstract art nouveau and shows a deer stag on the left looking toward the viewer. He is not fully formed but is making his presence felt in that imperious way that stags have. Behind him and to the right is a path and autumn coloured trees in bright gold, orange and magenta. The forest itself was inspired by Eartham forest on the South Downs near Slindon. I was there in late summer and took a long walk through the various paths through the trees without meeting a soul. It was hot and quiet and a little bit spooky and I could believe every fairy story I ever read whilst I was there. The Stag is a recurring theme in Sussex landscape paintings because the forests that used to cover the area still have many pockets of woodland left where deer are quite abundant. Despite this, they manage to remain beautiful and if any woodland creature is magical, it is the deer. This stag has a message and you have to walk the path to find it. He is a gamechanger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EoK439zNZE
