Description
A highly detailed illustration showing how typical architecture blends and transforms when travelling through different areas, in this case from the Central European Alps down towards the Italian Coast. So the timber clad mountain chalets become stone or concrete finished, some with painted murals. Then local stone is used and the familiar Italian clay roof tiles take prominance. Finally, at the coast, the buildings are much plainer but very colourful (though not best seen in a monochrome drawing admittedly). Altogether, this drawing is one big European village.
