Description
The Truth Calls is a large oil painting of an autumn path through English countryside and woodland with views across fields and hedgerow beside it. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is blurred at the edges which appears to pull the viewer onto the path that leads to whatever mystery lies beyond. On the left you can see the low hills of the Ashdown Forest area of Sussex. It was inspired by a walk I took in November near Ide Hill (English North Downs) which goes through the ancient farmland and fields of Orbriss farm. It was a late autumn scene and the sun was low in the sky and lighting up the last of the autumn leaves to rich golds, greens and reds. This particular view of the path caught my imagination as I could imagine it going to somewhere magical and not of this world at all. This kind of path is one of the main reasons I love to walk – there is a real allure to a path where you don’t know what is round the next bend or over the next hill. It is dedicated to the Landmark Trust (caretakers of Orbriss farm). Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed.
