Transition....Cow Parsley and Dragonflies Oil

A square-format semi-abstract canvas of dragonflies and cow parsley.
Both insects and plants figure largely in my upbringing and daily life and have strong folklore symbolism..... dragonflies being recently departed souls is a belief I have come across in many countries too with odd first-hand accounts of them appearing in unlikely places at the moment someone has died.... intriguing.
Painted with oil and metallic acrylicby thin layering over several drying sessions to create a fine translucent effect reminiscent of silk paint or stained glass.
Matt varnish finish ,60 x 60 x 1 cm, with white sides
The work is dated and signed on the front lower right corner and the reverse.
