Sunset Across the Bay Watercolours

A small gouache painting of a sunset and grey clouds tinged with pink, looking out across a bay. The painting is sold framed and mounted behind glass in an oak effect frame measuring 28 cms by 23 cms. The frame is 2.5 cms deep. The mount aperture measures approximately 17 by 11.5 cms.

I have been using gouache more regularly for the last couple of years. I like that it has the immediacy of watercolour, but the opaque coverability of oil paints, meaning it is more forgiving than watercolour to correct mistakes if you make them. Its also much less smelly than all the solvents associated with oil paints and much more portable if you are wanting to paint en plein air which I intend to do much more of over the summer months.
