Description
Renewable Energy is one of a new series of vivid abstracts, which deal with important climate change issues. It refers to the need to be nmore careful in our use of energy and when possible to find alternative cleaner, greener alternatives to fossil fuels, including wave, water, wind and solar power.
This painting was entered for the Octopus Climate Change Competition “Portraits from the Precipice” and was chosen to be featured on their home page.
The painting is full of movement, with many subtle details and brush strokes. The ‘wave’ has several nuances of meaning. It can represent water and the power of the sea and waves and the red and orange colour suggests flames licking the surface of the sun indicating the power of solar energy.. The painting has some texture in the foreground and is composed of many layers of acrylic and oil. It has taken several weeks to complete. It is painted mainly in brown, sienna cadmium, lemon, rose madder and a little gold, so that the painting looks different according to the light and the angle viewed. This is a stunning and unique addition to any room and a guaranteed subject of interest and discussion. It comes signed and dated by the artist with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be sent quickly, carefully packaged in a professionally designed box.
