Description
This painting is inspired by the winters in the North Pennines, Cumbria, where I live and work. It is a fusion of thoughts, feelings and imagery taken from walks in the landscape during winter 2020/2021. It is ia combination of oil and non-recyclable plastic on canvas, with the large sweeping black marks ironed on to the raw canvas before priming to show the way plastic is cutting into our landscape - our environment.
The whole composition is based around 3 x 6 pointed stars, as a nod to the divine through symmetry, structuring the majestic beauty of nature in a way that man can comprehend.
