Description
Abstract Expresstion Drip painting 283 Acrylic on Stretched Canvas 8x Panels, each 46cm x 61cm x 0.5cm (18 inches x 24 inches x 0.5 inches)
This painting is in eight small canvas panels and is in the style of Jackson Pollock, an American painter who was a leading exponent of Abstract Expressionism, an art movement known for the free-associative gestures in paint sometimes referred to as 'action painting.'
This painting is different in that it is in only black and white and grays. ‘Drip painting’ and ‘poured painting’ are two terms synonymous with Jackson Pollock’s style, with these often both grouped under the umbrella term of ‘action painting’. There is much debate around the artistic accuracy of these terms; Pollock himself is said to have disliked the ‘action’.
When assembled ether plane canvas or with gaps or framed is up to the customer but will cover a large space wall or can be broken up into two or even three pieces or individual works of art. Stating that “technique is just a means of arriving at a statement”, and that “it doesn’t matter how the paint is put on, as long as something is said”.
