Rhododendron Tree in the New Forest Oil

Small, original, plein air, landscape oil painting of the rhododendron bush in the New Forest near Rheinfield hotel. Rhododendrons are almost everywhere in that particular area, growing wildly, making the woods colourfull when they are in the full bloom.

Painting is made on a panel aprox. 10x10 inches (25x25 cm) primed with 3 layers of high quality gesso and 1 layer of GOLDEN GAC 100 primer to prevent sinking of colour over the time, where pigment would otherwise loose the crisp look due to loss of oils contained in the paint. That will ensure the bright and fresh appearance of oil paint over the long period of time.

All my paintings are always treated with thin layer of protective varnish after they dry. and it is signed and sold unframed. All materials are archival.
