Queen of the Night Pastels

This is an original modern painting, hand-painted with oil pastels on paper. Inspired by my beloved pet cat, this piece explores the idea that animals, too, have souls and unique characters. I aimed to capture this essence by adorning the cat with a golden crown, symbolizing its royal nature. The bold colors, especially the deep blacks and purples, enhance the cat's mysterious and powerful aura. Oil pastels were my medium of choice for this piece because they allow me to swiftly and vividly express emotions, lending a raw and dynamic energy to the work. This regal feline portrait is a playful yet poignant reflection of the bond between humans and animals.
