Description
I am attracted to doors and windows as a subject to paint (the older the better) and this is one of a series of Italian doors found in villages on the Italian Riviera. I spotted this door on a walk in the hills above our house up to the castle ruins in the hamlet of old Andora, Liguria so I took a photograph to later complete the picture of the weathered door. Originally painted in shades of bluish grey, the weathered wood was exposed in places where the paint had rubbed off.
It took me many hours to complete, I hope you like it!
The painting is Winsor and Newton watercolour paints on cold pressed, acid free, 300gsm watercolour paper. Ready for your own choice of mount and frame, the paper is A3 size as detailed below. The original artwork comes with my signature on the front and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
The work is also shown with a mount and frame but this is for illustration purposes only.
