The greyhound is a very sculptural creature. Davies took on a difficult challenge in its stance. He depicted the hound hunting on a steep rocky mountainside. Cast in bronze and mounted on a bronze base this sculpture shows off a greyhound never before depicted in this extremely complex pose. Certain body muscles are tense while other opposing muscles are relaxed as would be the case hunting on a steep rocky mountainside.
