This is a very striking original artwork painted in acrylics on a standard canvas. It appears to float within a deep shadow frame which enhances the enigmatic mood conveyed by this painting.
The subject of the painting is an elegant fair-haired young woman in a deep purple gown. Whilst she seems to be looking directly at the viewer, she also appears to be looking beyond the viewer and into the distance. She is partly obscured by the richly textured abstract background.
