Description
It is late evening on the farm we are renting near Bellingham, Northumberland. Max, our border collie, takes me for a walk. The sun has already gone behind the hills, but the sky is still full of diffused, yellowish, and orange pinks.
Max stops suddenly, and we look around. I take my camera and get hold of a few shots. I also am able to sketch a little, just enough to remember the feeling of peace and wonder in the stunning landscape.
I used these photographs and sketches to create this painting, which is full of tiny details.
I painted the artwork with professional-grade acrylic paints on primed linen canvas, protecting it against air pollution and UV radiation with three coats of varnish. The canvas is professionally stretched, and the painting is ready to be hung on the stretcher bars using a sawtooth bracket, or, if you wish, you can frame it.
The landscape is 61 x 46 x 1.9 cm and has painted sides continuously in the painting's colours.
The artwork is not framed; the picture in situ shows only how it can look in a frame and on a wall.
