Ayrshire Hillside Oil

Framed by me, the artist, this piece is ready to hang.

This small acrylic painting on board was initially painted on the spot looking from a path used by walkers and cyclists and the hillside shown is an area of moorland to the North West of Beith in North Ayrshire. On any landscape paintings that I have done on the spot, including this one, I have always worked on them later back at the house. I was interested in painting the patchwork of fields in the lower parts of the hills and also in painting a sky with some drama and energy about it.
