Description
This is acrylic, copper leaf and objects painting on high quality linen and custom made canvas. The style is defined by sculptural use of paint. It is 3-D, built-up mixture of many layers of thick gesso, paint, sand and other materials.
I'm inspired by the structure of Saturn's Moons. This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called Iapetus. It is the third-largest natural satellite of Saturn, eleventh-largest in the Solar System. Unlike most of the large moons, its overall shape is neither spherical nor ellipsoid, but has a bulging waistline and squashed poles. Iapetus is named after the Titan Iapetus from Greek mythology.
Finished with a glaze of UV varnish to protect against sunlight and dust damage. The colors may look a little bit different depending on the screen. This artwork is signed and dated on the back. A signed Certificate Of Authenticity will be included with the artwork. Edges are painted so it doesn't require any frame.
Size: 120 H x 100 W x 4 cm, 47" x 36" x 1.6"
