Pop Art Lady with a Clock (He’s coming home) Mixed Media

As a tribute to Roy Lichtenstein I used a crying lady for the basis of this design updating the phone but making a social statement as many of the soldiers as in all ‘warfare’ had family awaiting them ‘back home’. The fabric of her garment is made from ‘Time Travel’ stamps (part of a Sci-Fi pack issued by the Post Office). I thought this appropriate with the clock and travelling home. Approximately 700 British recycled postage stamps were used to create this picture. It is not framed and should not be displayed in direct sunlight although all canvases are varnished twice and have a coat of U.V. protection.
