Description
This oil painting draws reference from photos I took in the summer of 2020 of a beautiful wide-open meadow under a sky gathering clouds
This slow-flowing small river is an oxbow, meandering through the ancient Houghton Meadows, a habitat for otters, many species of insects including the distinctive hairy dragonfly, and insect-catching birds, particularly terns, and kingfishers. Even on summer days, it is a place of peace and interest. I have seen seals that have swum up from the Wash here also.
As an artist that painted for many years in the tropics, I love to use bright and intense colours
