Yellow & Pink Tulips in Brass Jug
Still life Square Oil Painting of pastel coloured tulips in an ancient brass vase that is a favourite, having been with my family for generations.
The cool blue of the window frame in the background contrasts with the pure pinks and yellows of the fresh flowers and the grounding tones of the old jug and work table.
Painted using alla prima technique with a combination of brush and palette knife.
The 100% pure cotton stretched canvas has been gesso primed and the painting lightly varnished with Winsor & Newton Picture Varnish.
The sides are painted to mirror the colours of the scene and the work can be hung unframed. Picture hanging fittings are in place.
