Berneray is a tiny island situated in The Sound of Harris. It is connected to the islands to the south (North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist) by a short causeway. A ferry service runs from Berneray to Harris and Lewis to the north. In this painting you can see part of a traditional white- washed stonehouse with a thatched roof. there is no specified drying area, just a line rigged up where the washing can dance around in the ever present sea breeze. The composition is continued on the edges to allow hanging without framing if so desired. Dispatched within 2 working days.
