To Distant Lands

This painting is a semi abstract, depiction of birds preparing to migrate at the end of the season, with plenty of movement to indulge the senses and complement the imagination. The painting continues round the sides so further framing is optional. The timing of migration seems to be controlled primarily by changes in day length. Migrating birds navigate using celestial cues from the sun and stars, the earth's magnetic field, and probably also mental maps. Threats to migratory birds have grown with habitat destruction especially of stopover and wintering sites, as well as structures such as power lines and wind farms. The painting comes, signed and dated on the back and initialled on the front by the artist, with a Certificate of Authenticity. I will use Next Day Tracked Delivery, so that you will know when to expect it to arrive. Alternatively you can have it delivered to your workplace. A beautiful, original gift for someone who loves nature or birds.
