A porcelain lithophane. This piece was made as part of a development project and is a limited edition of no more than 10 versions. The original image was developed using photoshop, then made into a 3D print file, then printed. Next a mould was made, then thus mould used to produce the lithophane, which is open at the back to allow it to be lit by natural light. Placed near any back lit light the image appears. Natural lighting changing during the day creates shadow and shade effects which add an ephemeral quality.
